Frequently asked questions:

---------------------------------------------------------------

What is the MHC Russian Club?

-We're a group of students interested in everything Russian!

--------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know anything about Russia, should I join?

-Of course!  The MHC Russian Club is both for people who know plenty about Russia and are majoring in Russian Studies, and for people who don't know a single thing about Russia!

---------------------------------------------------------------

How do I pronounce "Русская Группа"?

-Rooskaya groopa!  And say it with conviction!

---------------------------------------------------------------

You mentioned trips... where might these trips go?

-Trips will go to places both local and far away, like West Springfield (15 miles away), New York, and maybe... RUSSIA!

----------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if I can come to all the meetings but I really want to join!

-We ask that people come to ask many meetings as possible, but if you can't, no worries!  Just come when you can.

I want to join, but I don't speak any Russian!  What do I do?

-Join anyway!  You are welcome to join regardless of knowledge of Russian.  In fact, our weekly meetings are held in English.  We have events held in Russian, but many held in English as well.  Beware though, over the course of your time with us, you'll definitely pick up a few Russian words!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Will there be events in Russian?

-Yes!  There will be several events that are Russian language only- no English spoken so you can practice your Russian fully!  There will also be several Russian language based events where most people speak Russian, but speakers of English are heartily welcomed.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

What is a typical meeting like?

-Usually we begin by addressing any club business, eat some Russian candy, chat about Russia, brainstorm ideas for trips, teach our fellow English speakers a few Russian words, and watch films and cartoons in Russian (with subtitles)!
